Dalziel came away from a hard fought Caledonian league match with 3 well deserved points. The first half was a towsy midfield battle with neither goalkeeper being tested. The visitors went ahead 5 minutes into the second half through a well struck penalty by Graham Donaldson, after a Craig Hattie was fouled by a clumsy challenge in the box. Milton, however showed their battling qualities by forcing an equaliser on the hour, the Dalziel defence caught out by a crossfield ball that found a home forward lurking near the back post and the he made no mistake from close range. The Motherwell side regained the lead with 15 minutes left, Garry McClymont headed a deep free kick back across the face of the Milton goal and Willie Sneddon managed to knock the ball home for what proved to be the clinching goal. Overall a good fighting performance by Dalziel at a notoriously difficult venue for visiting teams.Dalziel are at home to Knockentiber in the West of Scotland Cup this Saturday 2.00pm ko.
