Dalziel recorded their first league win of the season at Dalziel Park on Saturday. The home side took an early lead when Graham Donaldson finished well after making space in the box. Dumbarton equalised however, when their centre forward managed to find the net with an angled shot that deceived the Dalziel keeper.
Dalziel moved ahead again before half time when Graham Donaldson got a touch to a fine cross from David Jackson for his second goal of the game. Neither side dominated after the break, and both keepers had little to do, but with 15 minutes left a fine move from Dalziel allowed Jackson to cut the ball across goal for substitute Garry McClymont to finish from close range. The same player was unlucky to hit the post a few minutes later to seal the game, but it was the visitors who scored with 5 minutes to go to set up a nervous end to the game. Dalziel are scheduled to play Mearns Ams in the 4th Round of the Scottish Cup at Dalziel Park on Saturday, kick off 1.30pm.
