The FP Football section have had an encouraging start to the 2006/07 season. Both our Caledonian team and our under 21’s took part in pre-season tournaments. The Caledonian team were invited by our local rivals, Colville Park AFC, to play in the Gallagher Trophy at Colville Park on 12 August. Dalziel came out on top, beating their hosts in the final to take their first trophy of the season.

The under 21s had an excellent run through to the final of the Shevlin Memorial Tournament, an annual pre-season event featuring a host of local teams, but were beaten at the last hurdle by a strong Overtown Thistle side.

The Caledonian team have carried their early good form into their league cup section, qualifying for the knock out stages of the competition following wins against Balmore and Links United.
